San Francisco Countys Land area is 46.69 square miles and roughly has 9,999 people per square mile. Most of the land is extremely hilly with a top height of 920 fee above seal level at Mount Davidson and Twin Peaks.
Downtown San Francisco is in the northeastern corner of the city with Market Street running diagnally southwestward from the Ferry Building through the financial district to Civic Center then to the bottom of Twin Peaks.
Outside of the downtown section is mostly residential with the larger sections being John McLaren Park, Golden Gate Park and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area which includes the Presidio at nearly 1,500 acres. The industrial areas are along the bay shore flats.
Two bridges access the San Francisco county with one being The Golden Gate Bridge which connects San Francisco County with the Marin Peninsula and north. The other being the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge which connects San Francisco with Oakland and the East Bay.
